I'd suggest GMs to run the game BEFORE making the servers available to the public. For at least an hour play the game yourself. Like run a dung with your party or something. It doesn't hurt, I've tried it![=)]( "=)")
Or if GMs think that playing the game is not part of their responsibilities then find a small group of trusted peeps you can let play the game for an hour before everyone does. Just make it clear that no world tames/easy WB kills are allowed and you'd avoid most of the channel switching issues with it.
I'd prefer one hour more maintenance than 11 hours downtime once a month
