I don't mean using the scroll wheel to manually change the setting, that's what I'm already doing.
What I'd like is for the game to remember my camera distance while on foot and mounted, and automatically switch between the two when applicable. In my ideal world, you'd be able to set the distance for each familiar separately, but I don't know how feasible that is.
Example: I have my camera set at a distance of 2 (two what? Who cares) when I'm on foot so I can see what I'm doing. When I mount my pegasus, this gives me a great view of a horse butt and not a lot else. Once I'm mounted, I scroll out and have my camera at a distance of, let's say, 5. I would very much appreciate it if I didn't have to constantly scroll in and out all the time - that is, the game would say, "Oh, you're getting on a mount? Let me change that view distance back to what it was the last time you were mounted," or even possibly, "the last time you were mounted on this familiar." (And vice versa, so it goes back to your last setting when you were on foot.)
If this is doable on a per-familiar basis, then new familiars would just use the on-foot camera settings until and unless you changed it.
