Familiar Adventures.

I'm confused.
When i'm sending my Graveon on an adventure in Cloying wastes theres no heart in the bottom left corner of his icon. So is he not from wastes? Why there's no buff for him?
Same is with the Duke Elder pet. It seems that he is not from Akrat, so no buff again. Weird.
Can someone tell me why?
