How "green" is the game?

Hi,

I posted a comment here in this thread which I want to discuss a bit.
To avoid the cross-clicks, I quote myself here:
One of the most demotivating factors for me personally is the hours-and-hours-and-hours needed to (re)level a mount i have already levelled. The seal/unseal system is totally frustrating and energy-consuming (i mean power, electricity, leaving my computer up for nothing)...
today should be a bit thinking about considering the environment - i mean, a gaming pc is nothing that consumes 20 Watt... yes it has a cost factor.
that does not interest you? fine. It does interest ME.
power does not "come out of the plug" - it is produced somewhere on cost of something else... rarely seen such a bad thinking, such a non-green game.
Todays developers have to think about Milliwatt and cpu cycles when it comes to mobile apps, but we just destroy KILOwatts leaving a pc online for... nothing.
It's not MY ONE pc... it's hundreds, thousands and many many more that could be left off (what they should be when no one is in front of them).

Maybe we come to a suggestion, let's see.

What made me think is the fact, that we have to leave our computers up and running so many hours idle to level our mounts. I am talking about the environment, the energy consumption, the Megawatts that get pulverized over thousands and thousands of (Gaming-)PC's running 24/7 or close-to-24/7.
Don't you think, that today, this is a no-go mindset?
I mean, everybody is trying to reduce energy consumption, many many MANY people put efforts in reducing their global footprint, thinking about what is really necessary and then this game rises up and forces machines to be left up and running?

I just want to point that out clearly, I think this concept is wrong in this time. It would have been ok 20 years ago (but even then people would have found it questionable at least) - but today I think it's a no-go.
Honestly, what message are you transporting here? This is a global subject. Please act like a global company.
I really love the game, but THINK about what you are doing here. There must be another way.

Suggestion: Increase the priority for Familiar Farms (or stables, however they will be called) so we can get rid of this energy-consumption that helps nobody VERY SOON.
In the mentioned thread to the end of the first page there already some good ideas, how this can be done.

Thanks for reading,
Cheers H
